A wealth of family experience in horticulture and garden restoration led to the creation of Branch Nurseries in 2002.
The nurseries, in the Trent Valley village of Sutton-on-Trent, offer inspiration to both the garden designer and individuals alike. The established plant stock includes high quality hedging and screening material including box, yew, hornbeam and beech in all sizes. We also grow a wide selection of simple topiary specimens and various pleached, platformed and arched forms.
The nurseries also specialises in the creation of trained fruit, using seldom seen, local varieties. All fruit is grown using time-honoured skills and techniques – the result being traditional plants that integrate perfectly into the contemporary garden setting.
The restricted forms we grow are well suited to the modern garden - which may not have sufficient space for the large plum or apple tree, but may be able to accommodate a fan or a cordon against a wall or fence.
Our aim is to grow plants that we would be happy to receive ourselves, and as such we employ traditional techniques to form near-perfect specimens which should fruit successfully and be easy to maintain. Unlike much imported nursery stock, selected for vigour and speed at the expense of taste and flavour, we specialise in using older, traditional varieties of British fruit.
We do not import from the continent as everything we sell is grown on our nursery in the Midlands. We are extremely proud of the quality and maintenance of our stock and welcome visitors to the nursery throughout the year.
